The developer and builder of The Village at West Gloucester, Brian P. Lever, has been active in residential development and construction since entering the private sector in 1984. He has been involved in the planning, design, development, construction, management, marketing, and sales of single-family homes, condominiums, apartments, single-family house lots, congregate care facilities, and investment properties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
As project manager and regional vice president with K. Hovnanian Enterprises, one of the nation's largest developers of condominium communities, Mr. Lever built several large residential projects in New Jersey and New Hampshire, ranging in size to 800 units. As president of the New England division of Pulte Home Corporation, the nation's #2 ranking home-building company, Mr. Lever was responsible for launching a successful home building operation that included residential properties in the Massachusetts communities of Waltham, Shrewsbury, Westborough, and Wayland.
As co-developer of the recently completed Crosswoods Path, a planned unit development in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Mr. Lever was responsible for the development and construction of 51 single-family homes, 56 apartment units, and an 18,000-sq.-ft. office building. This $15 million, award-winning community was completed in just over two years, and was featured in articles written by the Boston Globe, The Manchester Union Leader, and the Nashua Telegraph. The general contractor for the Crosswoods Path P.U.D. was Lever Development, LLC, a company owned and managed by Mr. Lever since 1999.
After receiving his B.A. degree from Cornell University, in 1973, Mr. Lever served for 4 years as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. He was later employed as a Pennsylvania State Trooper, before returning to school to earn a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Carnegie-Mellon University, in 1984.
